Threading

Threading

Gestión de Compras have the means to get the most common thread standards such as whitworth, unified, metric, acme, etc.

Process of threading

Threading is the process of creating a screw thread. There are many methods of generating threads, including subtractive methods, deformative or transformative methods, additive methods or combinations thereof.

Although there are many types, more common is thread cutting, it’s because this operation can be carried out at the same machine used to machining the part, lathe or milling machine, and for his high quality and accuracy. This operation is able to make internal and external threads. To internal threads usually are made by a tool called tap, thus this operation is called tapping. External threads are made with a die the operation is called threading.

Production of threading

We produce threaded parts of the most common thread standards such as whitworth, unified, metric, acme, etc. as well as threads with customized diameters, pitches, profiles or threads directions to meet customer requirements.

Materials and products

The material worked on threading and tapping processes are:

  • Carbon steel
  • Copper
  • Stainless steel
  • Aluminium
  • Zinc
  • Magnesium

Other feasible materials are lead, nickel, tin, ceramics, titanium, thermoplastics and thermosets.

Tolerances

For performing standard threads we adapt to current regulations such as ISO 965, ANSI B1.3, and similar, as well as specific customer requirements.

Standard and certificates

We are capable to produce internal and external threads on any published standard. As can be:

  • UNE 17709, DIN 13
  • ANSI B1.1, ANSI B1.5, ANSI B1.13M, etc.
  • ISO 68, ISO 261, ISO 262, ISO 724, etc.

In addition, we ensure that our suppliers are holders of the most demanded certificates, such as:

  • ISO 9001
  • ISO 14001
