Blow molds are ideal for producing one-piece hollow plastic parts with thin walls, such as bottles and similar containers.
The main feature of this type of molding plastic parts is its high productivity. Being a very fast process, gives very good results in the production of a large number of pieces. But there are other advantages in the use of blow molds, for example the tooling is less expensive than other molds, it accepts a lot of materials (PVC, polystyrene, methacrylate, PET, Bakelite, epoxy resins, amino resins), it is well suited to low and high production rates, the cycle is faster, it allows to make one-piece plastic parts and single or double walled…
Blow molds are transported by corresponding mechanism into blow molding machines. Blow molding machines are formed by the blow mold, a heating and cooling system, which is necessary for its proper functioning, and an exhaust system that brings the piece to the outside when it is already in a solid state and a stable temperature. The exhaust system must have certain specific characteristics, such as design and power in order to no damage the piece.
Gestión de Compras supplies blow molds for packaging industry and other sectors, all related to blow molding tooling, as well as finished pieces according to drawings for these sectors.
We are capable to produce molds and dies to different types of blow molding, both to extrusion blow molding and injection blow molding.
Materials and products
The materials most employed to produce blow molds are hardened steel, aluminum and beryllium-copper alloy. Being aluminum molds most used, because presents the best balance between thermal conductivity, duration and cost.
Blow molds are mainly used for the packing and beverage industry. It can produce many plastic parts for this sector by blow molding process such as bottles, canisters, casks, oil tanks, containers, carboys, jars… Not only blow molding can be used for making packing pieces but also it can be used for making pieces for automobile, electronics, furniture, toys, consumer, health and safety…
